AI project planning
Helps PMs build dynamic project plans — tasks, durations, and resource assignments — from a brief, then keeps the plan honest as reality shifts.
Project Plan AIWhat it does
You describe the project ("rolling out new ERP to 4 distribution centers, target Q3, 12-person team"), and the AI proposes:
- A work breakdown with phases, tasks, and dependencies.
- Effort estimates based on similar past projects in your tenant.
- Resource assignments based on skills and availability in HCM.
As the project runs and tasks slip or resources change, it suggests re-baselines instead of letting the plan drift silently.
Why it matters
PMs spend a disproportionate amount of time building and re-baselining plans rather than running projects. AI doesn't replace PM judgment — it does the typing, leaves PMs to make the calls.
Where the value shows up
- Faster project initiation — new project plans in hours, not days.
- More honest plans because re-baselining is cheap, so it actually happens.
- Better post-mortems because the AI tracks variance against original baseline automatically.
Adoption note
The model works best when you have at least 6 months of completed projects in Fusion Project Management. With less history, the AI's effort estimates lean on Oracle's industry templates, which are reasonable but generic. Get at least one full quarter of finished projects in before measuring accuracy.
